Zimbabwean Youth Day Event

Zimbabwean Youth Day is a celebrated cultural occasion that honours the contributions and future of young Zimbabwean Australians. Project Sunrise was welcomed as a partner at this year's event at North Melbourne Community Centre — an opportunity to connect with young people in a culturally familiar and celebratory setting.

Our presence at cultural community days like this is a core part of how we build trust. Rather than waiting for young people to come to us, we go to where they are — at their celebrations, in their communities, at events they value.

The event was an excellent opportunity to share information about our free, confidential, and culturally safe AOD services with both young people and their families across Melbourne's north.
