Project Sunrise delivered AOD educational sessions at Yarra Youth Centre, reaching young people directly in their community spaces.
Through a series of AOD educational sessions at Yarra Youth Centre in 2025, Project Sunrise brought evidence-based, culturally relevant health education directly to young people in Melbourne's inner suburbs.
These sessions were designed to increase understanding of alcohol and other drug-related harms among young African Australians in a safe, non-judgmental, and culturally familiar environment. Facilitated by workers with lived cultural experience, the sessions used interactive activities, storytelling, and community-led discussion to engage participants.
The sessions at Yarra Youth Centre are part of Project Sunrise's broader commitment to community-based prevention — reaching young people before harm escalates, and equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to make positive choices.
