Project Sunrise represented African Australian community health at the national AddictionZ Conference on the Gold Coast.
The AddictionZ Conference is Australia's leading addiction and recovery sector event, bringing together clinicians, researchers, and community organisations from across the country. Project Sunrise attended as representatives of culturally informed AOD service delivery — sharing our model and learnings with the broader sector.
Attendance at national conferences like AddictionZ is central to our mission of influencing the broader AOD sector's approach to cultural competency. By sharing our experience working with African Australian communities, we contribute to system-wide improvements in how services are designed and delivered for multicultural populations.
The conference provided valuable networking opportunities and insights that we've brought back to strengthen our own service delivery across Victoria.
