WHAT WE OFFER

Holistic support for young Africans
navigating alcohol and other drugs

Through the Victorian African Communities Action Plan (VACAP), Project Sunrise delivers a range of evidence-based services designed to be culturally relevant, trauma-informed, and freely accessible to all eligible young people.

AOD Counselling &
Case Management

One-on-one counselling sessions using evidence-based approaches to help young people understand and address problematic alcohol and other drug use. Our counsellors are culturally trained members of the African community who provide a safe, non-judgemental space for healing and recovery.

Providing Culturally
Safe Care

Culture is at the heart of our work. Our team includes African community members and workers who understand the lived experience of young people navigating AOD issues within their cultural context. We integrate cultural values, community connections, and family systems into every aspect of care — ensuring support feels familiar, respectful, and genuinely safe.

Referrals to Additional
AOD Supports

We don't work in isolation. When a young person's needs extend beyond our direct services, our team coordinates warm referrals to trusted partner organisations — including residential detox and rehabilitation, mental health services, housing support, and legal assistance. Every referral is managed with care to ensure continuity and cultural comfort.
